Dr.Cammock is from the Village of Vutia in the province of Rewa and her mother is from the western side of Fiji, from Nasolo village in Ba. She migrated to New Zealand with her family when she was nine years old. She has a masters and doctorate degree in Public Health from the University of Otago. Her research interests lie in Pacific health, sexual and reproductive health, and youth empowerment.

Dr. Cammock has been involved in health research in New Zealand and Fiji over the last nine years. She is currently a lecturer at Auckland University of Technology and teaches undergraduate Public and Environmental health to second-year students and Public Health Policy to postgraduate students. She is also Postgraduate Public Health programme leader within the school of Public Health and Interdisciplinary studies, in the Faculty of Health and Environmental sciences. Her role involves coordinating the postgraduate certificate, diploma and master’s in Public health programmes within the school. Dr. Cammock lives in Pukekohe with her husband and two little girls.
