Ngā Kete Wānanga Marae
Ngā Kete Wānanga was opened in 1999 for students, staff, and as a community resource. It incorporates a wharenui (Te Kete Uruuru Matua), a wharekai (Tahua Roa), classrooms and offices. Viewed from the above, you can see that the complex has been designed to look like a matau (hook) to 'hook' people into education.
The marae is at the heart of MIT and connects everyone?together. It also demonstrates Mātauranga Māori?as the central hub for all things Māori.
