Course highlights
The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills that are required in the practice of logistics and supply chain management. To achieve this the course will examine and integrate the following topics by means of an extensive and detailed project.
- Study the physical movement and storage of goods, including the effect of geography on the business of logistics in terms of: product care, storage and warehousing, modal characteristics, and the advantages and disadvantages of each
- Understand the commercial system that supports international trade – INCO terms, methods of payment; contracts of sale, contracts of carriage; commercial, transport and statutory documentation; supply chain costing. ICT in the supply chain.
