It will teach you how to apply this technology across multiple industries such as construction, logistics, maritime, engineering, search and rescue, security, real estate, media, delivery services and more.

Whether you’re self-employed or working for a company, operators must know and understand the legal requirements needed to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle such as a drone, which is a regulated activity under Part 101 rules enforced by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority.

Learn how to apply drone operation in a business context, for example, photography and video uses.

This course is a micro-credential, which is an approved NZQA training scheme qualification. It requires you to practice using your drone.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

Explain drone operation and its commercial application in the context of New Zealand industries
Demonstrate knowledge of operating a drone in compliance with CAA Part 101 rules and regulations.

DJI manufacturer is recommended
Video capability is recommended
