Biography
JohnMark is a certified WOF inspector, pre-purchase inspector, lecturer and a qualified automotive technician with 20 years of New Zealand work experience. JohnMark completed most of his working experience and automotive qualifications here in New Zealand, Auckland. Currently, JohnMark is working part-time (Saturday) for NZ AA Mt Roskill as a WOF inspector and working full time as a lecturer for the School of Automotive at Techpark, MIT.
While working as an Automotive Technician in the industry, JohnMark also enrolled onto several National Certificates in the Motor Industry with NZ Motor Industry Training Organisation (MITO) and Unitec Institute of Technology.
In 2006, he enrolled in the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry to Automotive Trades). After completing his level 2 qualification, he continued on to complete two National Certificates in Automotive Engineering (Mechanical) and Automotive Electrical Engineering Level 4.
In 2012, seeing the need and opportunity to do further study to strengthen his knowledge base in automotive technology, JohnMark resigned from work and enrolled onto the Bachelor of Applied Technology for 3 years. In 2015, he graduated with a Bachelor in Applied Technology, majoring in automotive engineering.
He then spent two years teaching at Unitec Institute of Technology. After his contract ended, he went back into the industry and worked for Honda New Market for another two years before starting his teaching career with Manukau Institute of Technology in 2020.
JohnMark felt that now is the time to give back to the community by sharing his experience and knowledge to benefit students learning at TechPark.
