2020 Student Council
Student Council is made up of eight elected members and represents students at the highest level of decision making, feeding back to MIT leadership about strategic matters. This includes representation on institute committees and the Academic board. The Student Council helps to keep MIT student-centric at all levels by representing the views and needs of all MIT students. Elections are held every year between the months of September and November.

Message from the 2020 Student Council President - Naomi Taripo
Kia orana,
2020 is upon us. Welcome to those returning for another year and to those who are new to MIT, from myself and Student Council team, wishing you all the best with your studies from here on!
Thank you for electing me as your 2020 President, what a privilege and I certainly have some big shoes to fill, thanks Connor! In saying that I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
Speaking of challenges, we have Student Support with a range of services for students to utilise. Needing some study guide with essay writing, better preparation for exams or just needing someone to talk to, keep your 2020 Student Success Guide on hand (MIT’s little red bible). Don’t be shy to ask for help!!
We’re a friendly bunch, we don’t bite, be a part of the conversation around MIT with student issues, put your hand-up and be a part of the solution. We are always looking for representatives in each learning area, help us help you and stay connected and be engaged with your own learning journey.
